At the Department of Communication Design we work within three areas, the essence of which is the immaterial, namely Interactive Design, Graphic Design and Illustration.
At the department, we educate visionary designers who have the courage and qualifications to play a strategic role in the information society of the 21st century. Designers, who understand the role of design and appreciate its implications for private, public and political life. In an ongoing dialogue with faculty, collaborative partners and society at large, the students develop an interrelated range of social competencies, design skills and intellectual capabilities that enable them to manage and solve complex problems from a humanistic departure point.

The students learn to master the design process, in all its facets, at the highest possible level. By taking the user as their departure point, students develop the ability to formulate, analyse, reflect on and facilitate design solutions in a precise, functional and technical way, both visual and written, with artistic nerve and intuition. They learn to orientate themselves across other disciplines and to work in teams, both national and international.
