A key objective of the Department of Communication Design is that Interactive Design students develop the following core competencies throughout their study.
Students should be able to:
- Master the computer as a means of communication
- Generate design concepts and products by identifying new technological possibilities in relation to people’s needs
- Develop methods to acquire, sort and focus design related information
- Confidently communicate, present and facilitate with images, sound, video and text
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary projects
- Have knowledge of software and hardware necessary to interact with computers and have the ability to relate theory to practice
- Develop working prototypes with digital technology
- Develop prototypes through to final products.
